Having traversed most of Europe and the Americas, Samantha has become somewhat of an unofficial expert on international travel. This July, the travel television personality with the winsome smile and insatiable curiosity embarks on a journey to Asia. Beginning her adventure in Vietnam, Samantha laps up the rich history and fascinating culture of this once war-torn country as she is welcomed with open arms by the friendly communities that live in the agricultural Sa Pa region and the floating villages of the Cu Chi area. Samantha also visits Cambodia, another Asian country ravaged by civil war, and finds that the country's current state, however, is one of optimism, peace and beauty.

What is a visit to Asia without enjoying the tropical weather and its postcard-perfect beaches? Samantha schedules a sojourn in paradise and drops in on Thailand and Bali to lose herself in the seductive charm of the idyllic destinations. Follow Samantha as she takes in the sights – from the giant gold Buddhas and colourful umbrella festivals in Thailand to the ancient palaces and lush terraced rice fields of Bali.

Continuing on her journey, Samantha discovers that Asia’s pioneer countries and glittering metropolises of Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia and Singapore are where tradition co-exists in harmony with the ultramodern. With a myriad of landscapes, Malaysia and Hong Kong’s extreme contrasts captivate Samantha with their all-in-one-destination appeal. From getting a taste of Portugal in Macau to relishing the flavours of the world in Singapore, the rich culinary scene in these vibrant cities offers Samantha an alternative look into their colonial histories and immigrant influences. Travelling from the ancient imperial capital of Kyoto to hip and modern Tokyo, Samantha also shares her favourite spots to see in Japan.

Samantha Brown is a travel expert and the host of several popular programmes on TLC, including Passport to Europe with Samantha Brown, Passport to Latin America with Samantha Brown, Great Hotels, Girl Meets Hawaii, Great Vacation Homes, and Samantha Brown’s Great Weekends.

Before becoming a travel television personality, Samantha was a working actress in New York City, starring in off-Broadway hits such as June Moon and Brutality of Fact.

Over the years, Samantha has travelled all around the United States, hung out in vacation homes, hoped in and out of great hotels, and even hula-danced in Hawaii. More recently, she could be found touring the great cities of Europe, Asia and Latin America.
